Paralegal and Outreach Coordinator -- se habla español
Rafael is a paralegal and outreach coordinator in CJP's Pittsburgh office.
Rafael is a native of Venezuela and works assisting the immigrant community on human rights, housing rights, civil rights, and employment law matters.
Before joining Community Justice Project, Rafael worked in the aeronautical legal field in Venezuela. After moving to the US, he worked as a housekeeper, server, ride share driver, and wedding reverend.
During Rafael's studies in Venezuela, he was captain of the AUDAS - International Team of Spanish Debate, and member of delegations for models of United Nations and Human Rights Moot Court Competitions in Venezuela and other countries. His passion is to play professional chess and to practice Ashtanga yoga.
Rafael feels CJP has the potential to exceed his expectations and he is grateful to be a part of its story here in the greater Pittsburgh region. As he continues to learn, his appreciation for it deepens. In a world where we manifest our direction, the only constant is change.
